Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack, in partnership with the Owen Sound Cardiac Rehabilitation program is pleased to announce that Heartbeats & Hockey Sticks, which was held on February 6th against the Guelph Storm successfully raised a net amount of $35,000.00.
Heartbeats & Hockey Sticks launched this year in an effort to expand the services of the Cardiac Rehabilitation program. The expanded program saw a "stay at home" program created for less at-risk patients or patients who were unable to travel due to varying circumstances.
"We are very proud to have reached our internal goal of $35,000.00 for the program.", stated Brent Fisher, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Attack. "This wouldn't have been possible without the support of Bert, Christie and the rest of the staff at Leeder & Associates, as well as the generosity of Harold and Chayle Sutherland. Their generosity and commitment to Heartbeats & Hockey Sticks was overwhelming."
The entire night was a great success and would not have been the success it was without the generous support of our fan base and volunteers.
"Once again, our fan base stepped up to the plate to support a very worthwhile cause. From purchasing T-shirts, participating in the bucket pass, pock toss, silent auction and live auction, this event would not have been a success without our fans and volunteers. All of the volunteers from the Cardiac Rehabilitation program, our Grey County Paramedics", said Fisher.
The Attack would also like to thank East Side Mario's for hosting the Celebrity Serve, Bayshore Broadcasting for their above and beyond support of the event, MPP Bill Walker for auctioneering, Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group for donating the 50/50, Brian Gough and Don Desjardins for their contributions, Andrew Negus of Block and Stone Resource Group as well as all of the other local businesses who assisted with prizing for the event.
One final fundraiser for Heartbeats & Hockey Sticks will be held. Proceeds from the Caframo Warm-Up jersey auction will also be directed towards Heartbeats & Hockey Sticks and the Cardiac Rehabilitation program. The Warm-Up jersey auction will begin on March 9th and end at the beginning of the 3rd period on March 12th. Silent auction bid sheets will be set up in the South Concourse. All proceeds of the event are courtesy of our Presenting Sponsor, Caframo.
