Petes Just Two Wins Away from Clinching Playoff Berth
March 2, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - Heading into the weekend, the Petes are just two wins away from clinching a playoff berth for the third straight season. With wins on Thursday against the Hamilton Bulldogs and Saturday against the Mississauga Steelheads, the mighty maroon and white will have punched their ticket to the 2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup playoffs.
A win on Thursday against the East Division rival Bulldogs could put the Petes in a position to secure home ice advantage in the playoffs. Peterborough sits just two points out of fourth place.
During the second intermission of Thursday's Extra 90.5 and Oldies 96.7 game, fans who support the CMHA chuck-a-puck can win prizes including a Beast Fitness three month membership and free pizza for a year from Southside Pizzeria.
On Saturday at 7:05pm, with the Mississauga Steelheads in town after suffering 8-0 and 10-2 losses last week, fans can enjoy the annual Saves4CF fundraiser, which has raised over $50,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research since it was started by former Petes goalie Andrew D'Agostini in 2012.
Tickets are still available for the Thursday and Saturday games by visiting the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office online, in person, or by phoning (705) 743-3561.
