Everett, Wash. - Kyle McDonough, Josh Zakreski and Alex Thompson each scored as Portland picked up win #1 of the preseason with a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett.
Each of the Winterhawks' three goals came in the third period as they tied the game twice, then took the lead with just under five minutes to play. Zakreski picked up his second of the preseason five minutes later to tie things up, and Thompson grabbed the game-winner with a one-timer from the left circle 85 seconds later.
