With the Hawks ahead, Byrd allowed an RBI-double to Joey Rose to tie the game at two. Byrd ended the inning by striking out Ryan Tufts with the bases-loaded keeping the game tied.

The Hawks got their third and final run of the game in the 5th. With Matt Hearn on second base, Luis Castro hit a ball up the middle for an RBI single and the Hawks led at 3-2. Hearn now has a 13-game hitting streak and 11 of the 13 are multi-hit contests.
