Everett AquaSox News Release
Everett, WA - The AquaSox won their fourth straight game Monday night, moving them two games ahead of Vancouver and Tri-City for first place in the Northwest League North Division. Josh Stowers had a stellar night, finishing two-for-three including a home run and 3 RBI.
In their procedural "piggy-back" outing, Michael Plassmeyer and Ivan Fortunato both pitched well. Plassmeyer finished with 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, and 3 SO decreasing his ERA to 1.69. Fortunato pitched three innings, allowing one run off three hits, and striking out two.
The AquaSox' offense unleashed on the Indians in the second inning, scoring three. Stowers launched a solo shot to left-center field, giving Everett their first lead of the game. Later in the inning, Troy Dixon and Nick Rodriguez both singled, setting up Connor Hoover who knocked in another AquaSox run, 2-0. Connor Kopach would draw a walk with the bases loaded, giving Everett a three-run cushion.
Spokane got their first run of the game off a Francisco Ventura single in the top of the fourth inning. It wouldn't go unanswered in the bottom of the inning, as Charlie McConnell floated the second Frogs homerun of the night over the fence in right field, 4-1.
After a Spokane home run in the top of the sixth, Stowers hit a two-out double off the center field wall, scoring Ryan Ramiz and Kopach, 6-2.
Spokane had an opportunity to tie the game in the eighth inning after closer Joey Gerber walked in a run. The Frogs closer wouldn't let the Indians back in the game, though, retiring the next four batters he faced, ending the game 7-4 AquaSox.
Tuesday the AquaSox will hold Baseball Bingo on their third Silver Slugger Night of the season. Fans have a chance to win $250 from Tulalip Resort! Tickets are available for purchase at AquaSox.com or by calling our front office at (425) 258-3673.
