Boise Hawks News Release
BOISE, Idaho - Mitch Levier lined an RBI single in a two-run sixth inning rally, as the Vancouver Canadians won their fifth game in a row, knocking off the Boise Hawks, 3-1, before 2,525 fans at Memorial Stadium.
With Daniel Petitti at second and two out in the frame, Levier lined the base hit to break the 1-1 tie. After a single and walk loaded the bases, Wade Kirkland added an RBI single to cap the scoring.
Ryan Quigley tossed four shutout innings for the C's to pick up his second win of the season, with A.J. Griffin striking out two in the bottom of the ninth to pick up his sixth save of the season.
The Hawks, who have lost seven games in a row, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a Richard Jones RBI single, but Vancouver came right back, tying the score in the second on a long A.J. Kirby-Jones homer.
Levier went 2-for-4 in the win for the C's, while Alvaro Ramirez went 2-for-4 in the loss for the Hawks.
Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night, with Brent Ebinger getting the start for the Hawks against right-hander Deyvi Jimenez.
