Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, N.D. - Kansas City T-Bones CF Aharon Eggleston exploded for a leadoff home run and a third-inning grand-slam and the Kansas City T-Bones banged out an 8-4 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Thursday night at Newman Outdoor Field in front of a sellout crowd of 4,545 fans. The game marks the RedHawks fourth sellout in a row and 11th of the season. The T-Bones second win in as many games splits the four-game series.

T-Bones starter RHP Derek Duclos (1-3) pitched 6.2 innings and gave-up three runs (all earned) for his first win of the season. RedHawks starter LHP Broc Coffman (8-5) losses his first game in his last three starts.

Eggleston opened the scoring with a leadoff home run on a 2-2 offering from Coffman. Coffman issued back-to-back walks to 1B Damian Rolls and RF Greg Jacobs. With men at first and second, C Craig Hurba singled Rolls home and 2B Neb Brown lifted a sac fly for a 3-0 lead. Coffman issued his third walk of the inning to LF Ryan Fox, which pushed Hurba to second and the T-Bones batted around for a four-run first-inning.

In the second, RedHawks 3B Jeremiah Piepkorn led-off the inning with a left-field flare and LF Justin Justice drew a walk. Piepkorn and Justice reached second and third base on a wild pitch by Duclos. With men in scoring position, 2B Carlo Cota pushed Piepkorn home on a sac fly to get the RedHawks on the board. In the third, Eggleston hit his second home run of the game, a four-run grand-slam to make it 8-1 T-Bones.

In the eighth inning, the RedHawks cut the lead in half on Cota's RBI double off the center-field batter's eye. But T-Bones reliever RHP Cody McAllister pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to close out the game.

The RedHawks open a three-game series against the Joliet JackHammers tomorrow at Newman Outdoor Field. RHP Nate Sevier (1-1, 3.33) will toe the rubber for the JackHammers and RHP Garry Bakker (4-5, 6.63) will head to the hill for the RedHawks. Game-time is 7:02 p.m.
