
Hawks End Season with 7-6 Victory

BOISE, Idaho - Richard Jones hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Boise Hawks to a 7-6 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils before 3,002 fans at Memorial Stadium.
The Hawks rallied from an early 4-0 deficit with a four-run fourth, keyed by a two-run Runey Davis triple, with Davis scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game.
Boise would take a 5-4 lead on a throwing error in the fourth, but Ben Paulsen launched a solo homer for the Dust Devils in the fifth to tie the game - with Tri-City taking the lead on a wild pitch in the sixth.
The Hawks would battle back, knotting the game in the sixth on a fielders choice by Francisco Guzman, the Jones launching the bomb to right to give Boise their second win in 12 tries vs. Tri-City.
Jones and Davis each had two hits for the Hawks, with Paulsen recording two hits for Tri-City.
Boise ends the season with a 34-42 record, while the Dust Devils meet Salem-Keizer at Gesa Stadium in Pasco in Game 1 of the Northwest League Championship Series tomorrow night.
NOTES - Logan Watkins was named Team MVP and Robert Hernandez Pitcher of the Year in a post-game ceremony, with Greg Rohan named Most Popular in a Fan Vote and Ryan Sontag honored for his Community Service...Hawks finished a NWL best 19-8 in one-run games.
