Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets opened their USHL existance with a win in extra time Saturday, downing the Hawks 3-2.
Ohio broke a scoreless tie early in the second period, but Waterloo's Josh Turnbull scored a minute and a half later, banging in a goal after a feed from Isak Ttanvik on the boards. The Blue Jackets led going to the third, but Tim Gilbert's powerplay goal evened the score at 5:56 of the final period. In overtime, after a Waterloo powerplay, the Jackets got the game winner from Adam Comrie.
Waterloo has another opportunity against Ohio Sunday at 5:05, CST. The Hawks will host Ohio Saturday, October 14 in the home opener at Young Arena.
