HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc won two-of-three games over the weekend splitting a two-game home stand before beating Knoxville on the road.

Friday, December 19 (vs Fayetteville) - The Huntsville Havoc scored four goals in the third period breaking a 1-1 tie to beat the Fayetteville FireAntz 5-2 Friday night.

Martin Kubaliak and Rob Stanfield both scored and Stephen Cooke scored twice in the third period for Huntsville. John Ronan added a goal in the first period. Karlis Zirnis added four assists and Cooke had two.

Rob Sich and Matt Moreland scored for the FireAntz.

Ross Cherry made 33 saves in the win. Kyle Knechtel made 23 in the loss. Huntsville converted on three of 10 powerplays while Fayetteville was scoreless on six chances.

Saturday, December 20 (vs Fayetteville) - Matt Moreland scored two goals for the Fayetteville FireAntz as they beat the Huntsville Havoc 3-2 Saturday night.

Mike Ruberto also added a goal for the FireAntz.

Karlis Zirnis and B.J. Radovich both scored second period goals for the Havoc.

Kyle Knechtel stopped 24 shots in the win. Mike Ronan made his first start for the Havoc and made 45 saves.

Sunday, December 21 (at Knoxville) - Travis Kauffeldt scored a natural hat-trick in the second period as the Huntsville Havoc went on the road and beat the Knoxville Ice Bears a 7-3.

The Havoc scored first with 15:21 left in the first period on Dylan Row's first goal of the season. Knoxville tied the game a 1-1 with 8:31 left in the period when J.J. Wrobel scored.

Stephen Cooke would give Huntsville a 2-1 lead just :13 later when he scored his fifth goal of the season. A Kevin Swider powerplay goal with 2:59 left in the period had the two teams tied a 2-2 heading into the first intermission.

The second period belonged to Kauffeldt. His scored his first goal with 10:52 left in the period and added his second just :34 later both on the powerplay. He finished the hat-trick off with an unassisted goal with 7:41 left in the period that sent starting goalie Kirk Irving to the bench.

Knoxville would cut the lead to 5-3 when Ryan Moore scored with 3:27 left in the period.

The Havoc would get a short-handed goal in the third period from Martin Kubaliak and Rob Stanfield scored for the second consecutive night with 1:12 left to cap the scoring.

Karlis Zirnis added three assists for the Havoc while Row, B.J. Radovich and Ray Ortiz all had two each.

Ross Cherry made 27 saves and he improved his record to 9-3-1. Kirk Irving allowed five goals and made six saves in the loss. Andrew Gallant allowed two goals and made 11 saves in relief.
