Huntsville Havoc News Release
The Huntsville Havoc claimed 5-of-6 points over a three-game home stand dropping a shootout decision to Florida on Thursday before beating the Fayetteville FireAntz 3-1 on Friday and the Pee Dee Cyclones 3-2 on Saturday.
Thursday, February 16 - Florida 3, Huntsville 2, SO
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Robert Sich scored in the sixth shootout to lift the Florida Seals to a 3-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc Thursday night. David Deeves scored on the first shootout and James Patterson evened the shootout at 1-1 on the fifth Havoc shot.
Justin Keller put the Seals up 1-0 with 11:01 left in the first period. Chris Peach tied the game at 1-1 with 12:56 left in the second setting up a dramatic third period.
Steve Zoryk scored with :28 left to give Florida a 2-1 lead before Craig Bushey tied the game at 2-2 with :09 left on a 6-on-5.
Terry Denike made 32 saves in the win while Jomar Cruz made 30 for Huntsville. Both teams failed to convert on the man advantage, Florida on four chances and Huntsville on five.
Friday, February 17 - Fayetteville 1, Huntsville 3
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Matt Carmichael made 35 saves in his first action since January 10 as the Huntsville Havoc beat the Fayetteville FireAntz 3-1 Friday night in front of 3,321 fans.
Doug Merrell scored his first goal of the season three minutes into the second period. Steve Hynes scored with 9:26 left in the second and Craig Bushey finished the scoring with 2:57 left in the period.
Dean Jackson added the lone goal for Fayetteville with 15:33 left in the game.
Fayetteville outshot the Havoc 36-28 including 12-6 in the third period. Fayetteville was 0-of-3 on the power play while Huntsville was 0-of-1.
Saturday, February 18 - Pee Dee 2, Huntsville 3
HUNTSVILLE, AL - James Patterson scored a powerplay goal with 2:05 left lifting the Huntsville Havoc to a 3-2 win over the Pee Dee Cyclones Saturday night.
Jeff Dams put the Havoc on board just 1:00 into the game with a powerplay goal. Pee Dee tied the game at 1-1 with 11:02 left in the second period.
Dams put the Havoc back up 2-1 when he found the back of the net on a short-handed goal with 3:42 left in the second. Edan Welch evened the game again with 11:59 left in the third.
Jomar Cruz got the win in goal making 22 saves. Kelly Shields took the loss stopping 35. The Havoc killed off all five Pee Dee powerplays while the Havoc scored on 2-of-5.

The John Gibson radio show returns to Wings Sports Grille located on Balmoral Drive in Huntsville tomorrow (Tuesday) night from 6 pm to 7 pm. Fans are invited to drop by an join Havoc Head Coach John Gibson, the voice of the Havoc Denis J. Puska, a Havoc player and Thom Abraham from The Ump. The show is aired live on Sports Radio 730 The Ump and the world wide web home of the Huntsville Havoc at www.huntsvillehavoc.com from 6 pm to 7 pm.
It's three games in four nights this week for the Huntsville Havoc and Sports Radio 730 The Ump and www.huntsvillehavoc.com will have you covered with Denis J. Puska bringing you all of the bone jarring excitment. On Thursday night the Havoc host the Fayetteville Fire Antz at 7 pm at the VBC. Havoc Game Night begins the coverage at 6:45 pm followed by all of the action at 7 pm. There will be full radio and internet coverage Thursday night
After a night off, the Havoc begin a big home and home series with their nasty rival the Knoxville Ice Bears. On Saturday night the Havoc visit the Ice Bears in Knoxville. Havoc Game night opens the broadcast at 6:15 pm followed by the puck drop at 6:30 pm with full radio and Internet coverage.
On Sunday afternoon, it's an Internet only broadcast due to University of Alabama Basketball when the Huntsville Havoc host the Knoxville Ice Bears in a return match. Broadcast coverage faces off at 3:45 with a special edition of Havoc Game Day followed by the face-off at 4 pm.
