
Havoc too much for Cottonmouths

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc got two goals and an assist from Bill Monkman as they skated by the Columbus Cottonmouths 5-2 Friday night in Huntsville.
Noah Katz added an even strength goal and Chris Peach and James Patterson both scored powerplay goals in the win. Steve Hynes and Jason deGuehery had two assists each while Patterson, Jesse Baranuik, Darren Salmon and Mike Degurse all had one each.
Brent Toews and Ryan Rutz scored for the Cottonmouths. Matt Ponto, Tim Green, Orrin Hergott all had assists.
Matt Carmichael had 22 saves to win his fourth game of the season. Chad Rycroft had 29 in the loss.
Huntsville was whistled for 27 penalty minutes while Columbus had 18. The Havoc was 2-of-8 on the powerplay and Columbus was 1-of-7.
The same two teams will meet again tomorrow night in Huntsville at 7:35.
