
Havoc Re-Signs Gurtler

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc announced today that forward Mike Gurtler has re-signed with the team for the 2014-15 season.
"We feel Mike can play a very important role this season as build for a championship run," Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo said. "With improved consistency, there's no doubt he can be a top point producer in our league. As part of our retuning core, we look for him to provide leadership both on and off the ice as well."
Gurtler (6-2, 200) played in 45 games for the Havoc last season and scored 15 goals and had 30 assists. He joined the organization late in the 2012-13 season in a trade with the Fayetteville FireAntz. He scored three goals and had six assists in 12 games. He also scored four goals and had three assists in eight playoff games.
"I couldn't be happier to be back playing in front of the best fans in the league and such a high-class organization," Gurtler said. "I'm really looking forward to putting in the work to bring back the championship to Huntsville and the fans."
Gurtler is a Rochester, New York native and has played in 127 career games and scored 35 goals and recorded 51 assists. He has four goals and six assists in 13 playoff games. He played four seasons a Mercyhurst University where he scored 44 goals and had 54 assists in 138 games. He scored 58 goals and had 63 assists in 163 career junior games.
The Havoc home opener is set for Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 on Breland Homes Ice at Propst Arena.
