Havoc Picks Up Two Points

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc only managed to pick up two points in week 22 with a 4-3 win over Fayetteville on Friday night. Huntsville dropped a 6-4 decision to Columbus on Thursday and lost 4-3 to Augusta on Saturday.

Thursday, March 17 - Columbus 6, Huntsville 4

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Columbus Cottonmouths jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and held on for a 6-4 win over the Huntsville Havoc Thursday night.

Will Barlow, Jesse Cole and Jordan Braid all scored in the first 9:30 of the game chasing starting goalie, Dan McWhinney. Bret Tyler scored in the first minute of the second and the Cottonmouths were up 4-0.

Chris Bratina, Mike MacDonald and Omar Pacha all netted goals for the Havoc and with 7:28 left in the second the lead had been cut to 4-3.

A Havoc penalty late in the second gave the Cottonmouths a poweplay chance that Braid took advantage of with his second goal of the night with :05 left in the period.

Peter McDougall added another powerplay goal for Columbus with 3:10 left in the game to push the lead to 6-3. The Havoc made one last push when Glenn Detulleo scored with 1:51 left in the game.

McWhinney allowed three goals and made two saves in 10:25 of action. Mark Sibbald allowed three goals and made 20 and took the loss. Andrew Loewen made 30 saves in the win.

Friday, March 18 - Fayetteville 3, Huntsville 4

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The line of Kevin Cooper, Glenn Detulleo and Ray Ortiz accounted for three of the four Havoc goals in a 4-3 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz Friday night.

Cooper scored two goals while Detulleo scored one. Ortiz finished the night with three assists. Kyle Laughlin scored the game-winner with 4:05 left in the third period.

Anthony Perdicaro scored two goals for the FireAntz while Chris Leveille scored one.

Mark Sibbald made 20 saves in the win while Travis Yonkman made 33 in the loss. The Havoc now sit four points ahead of Columbus for third place in the SPHL standings.

Saturday, March 17 - Huntsville 3, Augusta 4

AUGUSTA, GA - Mike MacDonald scored a goal and had two assists but it wasn't enough as the Huntsville Havoc fell 4-3 to the Augusta RiverHawks Saturday night.

Tibor Varga and Ryan Kretzer also scored goals for the Havoc.

Travis Dunstall scored two goals for Augusta, while Jim Gehring and Branden Kosolofsky both scored one.

John Olthuis made 30 saves in the win while Dan McWhinney made 23 in the loss.

Alumni players will be wearing commemorative jerseys which will be silent auctioned through the 2nd period of the Havoc game. Proceeds from this silent auction benefit the Autism Resource Foundation. A 'Meet and Greet' with participating alumni players will be held prior to the Havoc game on Friday night at 5:30pm in East Hall.
