Havoc Drops Two, Wins One

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc lost two home games after leading heading into the third period but did pickup a win in a shootout on the road on Friday night.

Thursday, February 24 - Knoxville 5, Huntsville 3

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Just like last Friday night in Mississippi, the Huntsville Havoc held and 3-2 lead heading into the final period and once again they gave up three goals in the final period, this time to the Knoxville Ice Bears at home and fell 5-3.

Robert Sich, traded to Knoxville yesterday, scored two goals for the Ice Bears. Brent Valliquette, Frank Furdero and Tyler Fletcher also scored for Knoxville.

Shaun Arvai, Ray Ortiz and Kevin Cooper all scored for the Havoc.

Bryan Hince made 35 saves in the win while Mark Sibbald made 24 in the loss.

Friday, February 25 - Huntsville 4, Pensacola 3 - SO

PENSACOLA- FL - Kyle Laughlin and Paul Kelly both scored in the shootout as the Huntsville Havoc picked up an important 4-3 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers Friday night.

Laughlin got the Havoc on the board with a powerplay goal in the second period after the two teams went scoreless in the first period. Chris Bratina and Chris Wilson both scored for Pensacola later in the period and the Ice Flyers had a 2-1 lead. Kelly tied the game at 2-2 with 4:09 left and the game was tied 2-2 after two periods.

Kelly put the Havoc up 3-2 with 13:40 left in the game but Pensacola responded with 13:09 when Kyle Crawford scored to tie it back up at 3-3.

Dan McWhinney made 26 saves in the win as well as stopping all four shootout attempts. Ryan Scott made 35 in the loss.

Saturday, February 26 - Augusta 4, Huntsville 2

HUNTSVILLE, AL - For the third time in five games the Huntsville Havoc held a one-goal lead heading in the third period and once again that lead ended in a loss as the Augusta RiverHawks rallied for a 4-2 win Saturday night.

Egor Mironov put Augusta on the board first with 10:12 left in the first period. Ryan Hand scored his first goal of the season for the Havoc with 3:59 left and the game was tied 1-1 at the end of the first.

Ryan Kretzer put the Havoc up 2-1 with a powerplay goal with 1:26 left in the second period.

Travis Dunstall and Jason Dolgy put Augusta up 3-2. Matt Auffrey sealed the win with an empty-net goal with :39 left in the game as he slashed the stick of Omar Pacha out of his hands and send the puck in the empty net.

Peter Skoggard made 32 saves in the win while Dan McWhinney made 33 in the win.
