Hat Trick from Braccini in Dominant 6-1 Force WIn

Fargo dominated in tonight's 6-1 game one win over the Sioux City musketeers. Highlighted by a two-period hat Trick from Jake Braccini, as well as solid performances in the net from both of Fargo's goaltenders.

The Force struck first in tonight's contest at 6:44 into the first period, with an unassisted goal from Jake Braccini. He banged one home full speed ahead putting the Force up 1-0 early in one. A little under 3 minutes later the Huglen, Broz, Monds line put up another tally for Fargo on a beautiful tic-tac-toe play fired in by Cody Monds. Then at 13:22 Aaron Huglen made it a 3-point lead for Fargo on a 2v1 breakaway goal thanks to a feed from Owen Gallatin. The Force closed the period up 3-0 and trailing in shots on goal 7-9.

2:19 into the second Braccini added on his second goal of the game after stealing the puck from a Sioux City player and taking on Musketeer netminder Akira Schmid 1v1. Shortly after tempers flared and chaos erupted on the ice resulting in a multitude of penalties against both teams and a goalie change for Fargo, sending Andrew Miller in the net for the remainder of the game. At 10:56 the Musketeers fired in their only goal of the game thanks to a shot straight out of a faceoff in the Force's defensive zone. With 1:57 remaining Jake Braccini added his third tally of the game completing his hat trick and extending the Fargo lead back to 4. The period closed with a 5-1 Force lead, and the Musketeers ahead in SOG 23-20. A whopping 106 penalty minutes were dealt out in the second period.

Fargo went on three powerplays in period three and finally banged one home on their 5th PP opportunity of the night. Bear Hughes fired in the final goal for Fargo at 15:56 in the final frame. Boynton and Miller both played solid minutes for Fargo in the net tonight, Miller with 18 saves in 36 minutes and Boynton with 13 saves in 24 minutes. The Force secured a dominant 6-1 win in game one of the Western Conference Finals and look to punch their ticket to the Clark Cup Championships tomorrow night on home ice, puck drop is at 6:05 PM.
