Matchup: The two squads met ten times during the regular season, with Sioux City skating away victorious in seven of those matchups. The Musketeers went 4-1 against Fargo inside the Tyson Events Center, the lone Force victory occurring on March 14. This series will be just the second postseason meeting all-time between the two franchises, the only other instance being Fargo's two-game sweep in the 2012 Western Conference semifinals.

About the Force: After sitting atop the Western Conference standings for most of the season, Fargo faltered slightly down the stretch, dropping nine of their final thirteen regular season games. After suffering a pair of three-goal losses in Sioux City to end the regular season, the Force were pushed to the brink of elimination on April 30 when they fell 3-2 in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series with Tri City. However, Fargo rebounded with a 5-4 victory the following night before clinching the series with a 3-2 victory on May 2. Tristan Broz led the Force with 51 points during the regular season, the second-best mark of any Western Conference player. Buffalo Sabres prospect Aaron Huglen has added 38 points in 42 games since returning from injury and defenseman Ryan Siedem's 30 assists were the third-most of any USHL blue-liner during the regular season. Netminder Brennan Boynton, a University of Minnesota commit, finished the regular season with the league's fourth-best save percentage (.901) and the third-best goals against average (2.43).
