
Hartford Takes a Tough Loss against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Hartford Athletic fell to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a tough 4-2 loss on Saturday night at Dillon Stadium.
Hartford started the match off strong with an incredible save from Frederik Due and a strong attempt from Wojciech Wojcik. Pittsburgh also came out with some energy and a goal from Steevan Dos Santos in the 13th minute quickly puts them on the board.
Hartford continued to attack hard in the first half and Due kept the energy up with another incredible save. In the 37th minute Anthony Velarde gets on the end of a deflection and scores for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh followed with their third goal in the 38th minute from Steevan Dos Santos. The score would remain 0-3 going into halftime.
Hartford was ready to fight their way back into the game coming out of the locker room and Mads Jørgensen scored a huge goal off of a free kick in the 47th minute. The goal put Hartford right back in gear giving them some good chances to score.
In the 76th minute Neco Brett managed to get through the defensive line and scored Pittsburgh's fourth goal. Hartford wasn't ready to give up and a great ball to the back post from Kyle Curinga to Sebastian Dalgaard gives Hartford their second goal of the night in the 84th minute. Despite Hartford's strong second half efforts, the Boys in Green fall to Pittsburgh 2-4.
Hartford Athletic is back at Dillon Stadium for their next home match on Saturday, August 10th at 1pm for a match-up against New York Red Bulls II.
