December 20, 2023 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Hartford Athletic News Release
Hartford Athletic have signed striker Enoch Mushagalusa ahead of the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval.
The 24 year old played the last two seasons with Louisville City and San Diego Loyal, serving a loan spell with the west coast club in the second half of 2023. A creative goalscorer and playmaker, Mushagulsa racked up 12 goals and four assists over the last two years, including a career high 10 goals scored in 2022. He made 15 appearances with Louisville in 2023 before being loaned to San Diego, where he appeared four times before suffering an injury that saw him miss the final eight matches. He was recalled by Louisville at the end of the regular season and appeared off the bench in their 3-2 loss to Tampa Bay in the second round of the USL Championship playoffs.
"Enoch is an exciting player who will add a spark to our attacking arsenal," said Hartford Athletic CEO Nick Sakiewicz. "He is a fantastic athlete who possesses dynamic skill on the ball, creativity in the final third, and consistent finishing ability. We can't wait to see him in Green and Blue."
Prior to his time with Louisville, Mushagalusa began his professional career with Sporting Kansas City II in 2020 and totaled nine goals and five assists across two seasons. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mushagalusa grew up in Denver, Colorado and progressed through the Colorado Rapids' academy as one of the brightest young players in their program from the U15 level up until U19. He scored 53 goals across 85 U.S. Soccer Development Academy appearances, earning him a trial with the Rapids' first team. He spent the preseason with the Rapids, but was released from the club's camp in February and signed with Sporting KC II ahead of the 2020 season. In total, Mushagalusa has poured in 21 goals and dished out nine assists in the USL Championship.
