
Harold Fuller Named General Manager Of The Odessa Roughnecks

ODESSA, TX. : On Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 from Rockin' Q Smokehouse in Odessa, the Odessa Roughnecks announced that Harold Fuller has been named the General Manager. The Angelica, New York native is now in his 18th year of professional sports and is excited to begin working with new family members; the Odessa Roughnecks front office staff, coaching staff and players.
"I can't wait to help take the Roughnecks to the next level and provide quality family sports entertainment for what I am sure are the best fans in the Indoor Football League." stated Fuller.
The Houghton College (NY) 1991 graduate has worked as a sales representative with the Buffalo Bisons, as Assistant General Manager / Sales with the Midland Rockhounds, and most recently as President of Business Development with the Odessa Jackalopes. His contributions to professional sports have led to several nominations for the Western Professional League and Central Hockey League corporate sales representative of the year awards. Fuller was named the winner of the CHL's "Soul of Service" award in 2002-2003, for recognizing excellence in customer service. He was also named the 2002-2003 Paul Harris Fellow of the Year award, and the 2007 Rotarian of the Year award by the Midland West Rotary Club.
"Harold brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and we are ecstatic that he is going to be part of our family." stated Allegiance Pro Sports President and Odessa Roughnecks Team Owner, Brandon Smith.
Harold believes in the words of nineteenth century philosopher Friedrich Nietzche, "What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger." He also knows that several people in his life have given him the strength to be where he is at today in his career. These people include; his mother, Shirley Perkins, his late father - Rev. Burdette Fuller, his college soccer coach Doug Burke, his mentor Monty Hoppel, his co-workers, Jeff VonHolle, Jamie Richardson and Melanie Hill, and most importantly his wife, Mercedes Fuller.
Mercedes will also be joining Allegiance Pro Sports as the Merchandise Coordinator for the Odessa Roughnecks, Abilene Ruff Riders and the yet-to-be named organization in El Paso. The Iloilo City, Philippines native is a graduate of Polytechnic University of Iloilo with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After moving to Midland, Texas in 2000 she oversaw the ushers and the customer service booth with the Midland Rockhounds and Odessa Jackalopes. Just this past year, Mercedes was promoted to be the Souvenir Manager for the Odessa Jackalopes. She quickly became known league wide for her hard work, talents and success in developing the Jackalopes souvenirs department. She earned "Employee of the Month" honors for the month of July of the Central Hockey League.
