Maniacs Dance Team Tryouts Set

Laurel, MD (October 25, 2008) - They are the energy behind the team's success, the main reason many fans come to games, and they will display some of the finest talent in the league. They are, of course, The Maryland Maniacs Dance Team, and they will hold tryouts on Sunday, November 2nd from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gold's Gym located at 6222 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770.  

The Maryland Maniacs, who are members of the Indoor Football League (IFL), are set to kickoff their season in the spring of 2009 at the Show Place Arena located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Registration starts at 12:30 and the tryouts are scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The preferred attire consists of black and/or white crop top, shorts, socks, and dance sneakers/tennis shoes.

Dancers must be at least 18 by December 31, 2008. There is no specific height or weight requirements; however dancers should be physically fit. The Dance Team Directors will focus on the following in making their selections: showmanship, dance technique, personal appearance/figure, personality, communication skills, energy, and kick technique. This is a professional dance team from which much is expected; therefore each dancer will receive compensation as well as other exclusive benefits and perks.

"The Maniacs Dance Team will be a key part of the team's success," stated Maniacs' General Manager John Wolfe, "so we are looking for the most talented dancers in the area. We also feel this is an excellent opportunity for any dancer who wants to excel in a professional dance environment."
