
Harisis Returning to Beach Bums

WUERFEL PARK - The Traverse City Beach Bums are excited to announce that outfielder Greg Harisis is returning for a second season in 2015.
Harisis joined the Beach Bums last June as a rookie and made his debut with two hits at Washington June 24. In his first professional season, he appeared in 49 games batting .267 and swiping 18 bases.
"Greg is an everyday right fielder who had a good rookie season and learned a lot of things" says Beach Bums' manager Dan Rohn. "He brings lots of excitement with his speed."
The 23-year old played collegiately at Division I Santa Clara and was a regular in the line-up for the Broncos starting his sophomore season. He earned First-Team All-West Coast Conference honors that season. As a junior he batted .293 with 13 steals. In his senior season he finished third in the conference with 49 runs scored.
A native of Anaheim, CA, he is the son of Don and Deanna. He has a younger brother, Kenny. In his spare time, Harisis enjoys watching football, snowboarding, paintball and reading. He majored in biology in college.
The 2015 Fan Fest is Saturday May 9th at Wuerfel Park starting at 11am. Individual game tickets for the season go on sale at 11am, with a Navy/Yellow game at 1pm. Mascots SunTan and SunBurn will be in attendance, concession stands will be open and there will be raffles all day. The event is free.
The 10th season of Beach Bums baseball begins Friday May 15 at Evansville at 6:35pm with the home opener scheduled for Friday May 22nd vs. Windy City at 7:05pm.
All games will be broadcast live on 98.1 The Bear.
The Wuerfel Park offices are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Beach Bums will play 51 games at Wuerfel Park in 2015 starting with the home opener and a FANtastic Fireworks Friday on May 22 at 7:05 pm. Season ticket packages are now available! Fans are invited to come on out to the ballpark and personally choose their seat or call 231-943-0100 for more information.
