Harff Returns, Joanette Signs

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that defenseman Scott Harff will return for his second season with the team and center Alain Joanette has signed.

Harff (6-3, 200) played in all 56 games for the Havoc last season and scored five goals and recorded 13 assists. He spend three seasons at Colby College before turning pro where he scored 12 goals and recorded 24 assists in 67 games.

"Scott came in last year and fit in real well with what we were coaching," Havoc Director of Hockey Operations Jordan Little said. "He has a fantastic work ethic and competes hard each time he steps on the ice. He is aware of what it will take to get to the next step in his development and I am excited to see him in October."

"I'm very excited to be back in Huntsville for a second year," Harff said. "It is a first-class organization, from the owner to the coaches and to the fans. I can't wait to get back down and continue our path towards a championship."

Joanette (5-9, 165) spend the past two seasons playing professional hockey in Germany. He scored 70 goals and recorded 56 assists in just 51 games. He spent four seasons playing college hockey at St. Norbert College. He scored 26 goals and recorded 53 assists in 110 games. He also played 273 career junior games where he scored 123 goals and recorded 185 assists.

"Al has shown that he can produce throughout his career and we fully expect him to continue that trend as he makes the jump to pro hockey in North America," Detulleo said. "I will be looking for him to center a line that will be a threat in all three zones."

"I'm very excited to join the Havoc and I can't wait to start the season," Joanette said. "I'm setting the bar as high as possible with one goal in mind, League Championship! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone affiliated with the team and the fans.

The Havoc open the home schedule on Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 against the Louisiana Ice Gators.
