Victoria B.C. - The Victoria HarbourCats are pleased to announce Retirement Concepts as HOME RUN PARTNER for the 2016 season. The unique arrangement will see the club partner with Retirement Concepts communities The Wellesley, Selkirk Seniors Village and Beacon Hill Villa to host residents and their families at games while enabling the club and its players to give back to the community.

"We are pleased to be able to support the HarbourCats and foster a relationship that provides our residents with a unique opportunity to enjoy great entertainment while supporting the success of a local sporting organization," said Retirement Concepts spokesperson Jennie Deneka, VP of Operations.

HarbourCats players will be visiting Retirement Concepts residents, building friendships that will foster a greater sense of community and tighter relationships at the ballpark.

"We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to partner with Retirement Concepts in a way that will see residents and their families enjoy each other's company at Royal Athletic Park throughout the 2016 season," said Jim Swanson, Managing Partner with the Victoria HarbourCats. "Seniors are some of our best fans and to allow them to enjoy the game and cheer along with fans from every generation is very special to us."

The sponsorship agreement will see players visit fans at the Retirement Concept communities throughout the season. HarbourCats and Retirement Concepts will also work together to enter a float in the upcoming Victoria Day Parade, along with Wilson's Transportation. Retirement Concepts will be a prime name that fans will see at the park throughout the season.

"This is a great way for our players to have a further positive impact in our community, meeting people and getting to know our fans," said Richard Michaels, Director, Community Relations and Corporate Partnerships for the HarbourCats. "We're looking forward to building this relationship throughout the season both at our park and at the three Retirement Concept communities."

The HarbourCats home opener is exactly seven weeks away, June 7 at Royal Athletic Park against the Wenatchee AppleSox. The 2016 season opens with a three-game series in Walla Walla beginning June 3. More news and signings will be announced in the weeks leading up to the season.

SEASON TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

The HarbourCats have seen an increase in season ticket sales and sales of 10-packs and single-game tickets are progressing at a brisk rate. Fans are encouraged to secure your seats early as selection will continue to become more limited as the season draws nearer.

"We recommend, especially with our affordable prices, that people come in and secure their seats - the sooner, the better," said Managing Partner Jim Swanson. "To buy a premium season ticket for the 2016 HarbourCats is less than the cost of travel, etc., to see one Mariners game in Seattle, and we work hard on all aspects of the program to keep our games affordable for everyone."

To buy season tickets, call the office (778-265-0327) or stop in at 101-1814 Vancouver Street.

With the season just weeks away, the HarbourCats office at 1814 Vancouver Street (across from RAP) has expanded hours, now open Saturdays from 10am until 2pm.
