Lincoln Stars News Release
The Sioux City Musketeers defeated the Lincoln Stars, 3-2, in overtime on Monday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals of the 2024 Clark Cup Playoffs at the Tyson Events Center.
Ty Hanson split the defense and ended Lincoln's season with an overtime winning goal 3:19 into sudden death overtime. Sioux City secured the series sweep and moves on to face the Fargo Force
The Stars stormed back after falling behind 2-0 when Adam Kleber and Keaton Peters responded with quick strike goals late in the second. Kleber put Lincoln on the board when he swatted home a rebound after Jack Pechar's chest-high shot at the 14:32 mark of the third.
Peters tied the game up with his first career postseason goal by finessing through a few bodies and stick lifts and flicking the puck top shelf 53 seconds after Kleber's tap in.
Next up for the Stars is the USHL Draft. The Phase I portion for 2008 birth year players is at 4 p.m. on May 6 and the Phase II side for players of all ages eligible to play junior hockey that are not currently protected by another USHL team is May 7 at 11 a.m.
