
Hanson and Lavoie Each Score Two in Americans' 5-3 Victory

Prescott Valley, Arizona - The Allen Americans and Arizona Sundogs faced off on Black Friday evening in their second of three scheduled contests over the Thanksgiving weekend with the Americans coming out on top by a score of 5-3.
Arizona opened the scoring in the first period when Kevin Baker lit the lamp at 8:50, assisted by Ryan Gaucher and Jason Morgan. The Americans answered back to tie at 17:04 when Greger Hanson scored his second goal of the year with assists from Darryl Bootland and Trevor Ludwig. Bryan Cameron continued his hot hand for the Sundogs, netting the go ahead goal for the Sundogs at 19:43, assisted by Dion Campbell and Garrett Clarke. Arizona held the edge in shots on goal in the opening period by a count of 14-9.
The middle frame saw only one goal scored and it was Alex Lavoie netting his ninth goal of the season, on the power play, to tie the game 2-2. Assists on the Lavoie marker were credited to Kale Kerbashian and Tyler Ludwig at 10:27 .A stronger offensive effort in the period had Allen outshooting Arizona 14-10 for a two period total of 24-23 in favor of the Sundogs.
The Americans took their first lead of the night on Greger Hanson's second goal of the night, assisted by Kale Kerbashian at 12:03 of the final frame. Then Arizona answered back when Paul McIlveen lit the lamp at 13:09, assisted by Ryan Gaucher and Kevin Baker. Allen retook the lead on Alex Lavoie's second goal of the night, assisted by Phil Fox at 13:53 . Phil Fox cemented the victory for Allen scoring on the empty net with assists from Ross Rouleau and Spencer Asuchak. Arizona outshot Allen in the third period 14-11 for a three period total 38-34 in favor of the Sundogs.
The Americans finish their weekend series against the Sundogs on Saturday night at the Prescott Valley Convention and Events Center, with the scheduled puck drop at 8:05PM CST.
