Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL- The Jupiter Hammerheads (19-26) held on to beat the St. Lucie Mets (15-25) by a score of 3-2 to complete the three-game sweep of their division rival. Hammerheads starter Jeff Allison (5-8) went six 2/3 inning to lead the Hammerheads to their fourth straight win. Allison allowed two runs on six hits and struck out two. It was the right-hander's first win since July 10th. Daniel Jennings pitched a scoreless ninth to record his second save.
Left fielder Jeremy Synan got the big hit for Jupiter, doubling with two outs in the sixth inning off of Angel Calero (1-9) to give the Hammerheads a 3-1 lead. He finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs (3). Ben Harrison added his eighth homer of the season.
Jupiter will open up a three-game series with the Sarasota Reds tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. Brett Harker will take the mound for the Hammerheads and will look to extend the winning streak to five games. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM.
