Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL -- The Hammerheads lost 3-2 to the Tampa Yankees in 14 innings at Roger Dean Stadium. Jeff Kennard got the win, pitching 3.0 innings of one hit ball in relief. The Yankees got things going in the 14th when Eduardo Nunez tripled to right center field to lead off the inning off Hammerhead Jarrett Santos. Cody Ehlers followed up with a base hit to score Nunez with the go-ahead run.
Jupiter was trailing 2-0 heading into the 7th inning when Brad McCann hit his 4th homerun on the season to left field scoring two runs. The Yankees scored a run in the 4th and 6th innings off starter Jacob Marceaux. Marceaux went the longest he has all season, pitching 7.2 innings, while fanning nine batters.
The Hammerheads will not have much time to think about the loss tonight as they have a game at 10:35 am against the Yankees. Roger Dean Stadium will be hosting "Education Day" at the ballpark, where over 4,000 students from local elementary schools will be out enjoying a day at the park.
