THE SERIES: Tonight's game is the 1st of 3 meetings between the Lone Star Division Rivals in 2010.

THE IFs:

If Corpus Christi Wins

It would win their first game at the American Bank Center since the 2006 season after which the team moved their home games to the Central Pavilion in Robstown

It would give new Head Coach Stephen Fillmore his first professional win.

It would earn the first ever victory in what is anticipated to be a heated rivalry between these two franchises.

HEAD COACHES:

Stephen Fillmore, who is also an assistant with the West Oso Bears, played three seasons for the Hammerheads. Last year Fillmore finished second on the team in tackles with 54 including 4.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks. "I'm excited about this opportunity and want to thank the Hammerheads for believing in me", said Fillmore. "I can't wait to get to work and start building this team to contend for a championship".

Chris Duliban was drafted by Tom Landry and the Dallas Cowboys in 1986 and spent a year with the Buffalo Bills in 1988. Duliban left the NFL in 1989 and seven years later, he found himself on the sidelines at Hyde Park Baptist High School in 1996. He earned his first indoor coaching opportunity as the defensive coordinator of the Indoor Professional Football League's Texas Terminators. He also served as head coach for the Austin Rockers of the NIFL in 2003. In 2008, Duliban was the Head Coach for the Centex Barracudas of the Intense Football League, leading the team to their first playoff victory in history against the Alaska WIld.

DROPBACK: The Hammerheads lost their season and home opener to the Arkansas Diamonds 26-18 on February 28th.

FORWARD MOTION: Corpus Christi will finish the three game home stand on Sunday March 21st against the West Texas Roughnecks. Kickoff at the American Bank Center is set for 4:05pm.

TEAM NOTES/TRENDS:

Depth, and lots of it: The Hammerheads have put together the deepest roster in franchise history. However, the team struggled to score points on opening night. The Defense however was even better then advertised only allowing 12 points. The other 14 came by way of a pick 6 and a blocked FG attempt returned for a TD.

Battle for the QB: The Hammerheads QB battle got even more heated following the opening night loss. Both Cory Miles and Sedale Threatt struggled prompting the team to bring back a name from the past, Wes Cooper. In his Hammerheads career Coop has thrown for 154 TD's against 27 picks, nearly 5500 yards while leading the team to two championship game appearances. The question is who will be the back up?

Line Stability: After giving up a number of sacks and a lot of pressure, The Hammerheads will start James Cardenas at Center and return three time All-IFL first team guard Matt Ross to protect Cooper against the Turfcats.

PLAYERS/MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

Offensive and Defensive Lines: The Hammerheads look to control the line of scrimmage this week. The team O-Line had numerous problems in the opener but looks to be shored up for game two. On defense the Hammerheads look to continue the level of pressure they displayed in game 1. If the Hammerheads control the line... they'll control the game.

Center - QB Exchange: This was certainly an adventure for both teams on opening night. Cardenas and Cooper must get on the same page in a short amount of time before kickoff Sunday.

Turnovers & Miscues: The Hammerheads had a number of Turnovers and Miscues against the Diamonds. With two weeks of preparation the team looks to minimize the mistakes against the Turfcats.

Coaching: Hammerheads Rookie Head Coach Stephen Fillmore faces another experienced head coach Sunday in Duliban. The staff needs to improve in their play calling to get this team in a rhythm and come away with the first win of 2010
