
Hamilton Bulldogs Recall Olivier Fortier

HAMILTON, ONT - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has recalled centre Olivier Fortier from the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.
Fortier, 23, has played 23 games this season for the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL recording 19 points (9 goals, 10 assist) and ranks second on the team in goals and points. Fortier has played 106 regular season games over parts of three seasons from 2010-2012 with the Hamilton Bulldogs registering 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) and 46 penalty minutes. In 2010-2011, the 5'11", 181-pound centre tied for third on the 'Dogs in rookie scoring with 20 points while ranking second in goals scored by a rookie with nine. The native of Quebec City, Quebec played four seasons from 2005-2009 with the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League notching 161 points (65 goals, 96 assists) and 107 penalty minutes in 205 regular seasons games. Fortier was originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round, 65th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs' next game is against the Wolves in Chicago on Thursday, December 13th at 8:00 p.m. The game will air on TVA Sports. All 'Dogs games during the month of December will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820), with select games simulcast on Montreal's TSN Radio 690 (AM 690).
