B-Sens Fall to Crunch, 4-3

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators dropped their second straight game as they fell to the East Division rival Syracuse Crunch by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday night.

Alex Killorn put the home standing Crunch on the board first, scoring a goal at 9:35 of the opening period. Mike Hoffman answered for Binghamton, tipping in a Stephane Da Costa shot at 11:53 of the period to knot the game at one. The Crunch would regain the lead with under a minute to go in the period, as Matt Taormina's fourth goal of the season sent his team to the dressing room for intermission with a 2-1 lead.

The teams traded goals in the second period. Brett Connolly put the Crunch ahead by a pair at the 11:27 mark, but Hoffman's second goal of the night, coming at 18:02 of the middle frame, would bring Binghamton back within one, 3-2.

In the third period, Connolly's second goal of the game would give the Crunch a 4-2 edge at 7:16. Mark Stone pulled the B-Sens back within one at 14:06, but Binghamton failed to generate anymore offense.

Captain Andre Benoit ended the night with a pair of points, drawing the secondary assists on each of Hoffman's goals.

Robin Lehner started in goal for Binghamton, stopping 34 of 38 shots as he fell to 8-4-1 on the season. Dustin Tokarski tended goal for Syracuse, stopping 15 of 18 shots.

The B-Sens are back in action on Friday as they visit the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
