CLEARWATER, Fla - With two on and two outs, facing a one-run deficit in the seventh inning, Darick Hall delivered for Clearwater on Wednesday.

Hall greeted reliever Will Vest with an opposite-field, line-drive home run over the wall in left to lift the Threshers to a 7-5 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers at Spectrum Field.

Clearwater (10-16) improved to 5-3 in day games this year, coming from behind after a back-and-forth battle early on.

After Lakeland (12-14) grabbed an unearned run off Adonis Medina in the first, Clearwater bounced right back with three in the home half.

Arquimedes Gamboa worked a walk to open the frame, and with one out, the Threshers connected for five consecutive singles against Lakeland starter Anthony Castro (2-2).

Austin Listi got Clearwater on the board by driving a double to the left-centerfield gap, and Hall followed with a single to center. Mickey Moniak put Clearwater ahead with a base hit through the right side to score Listi, and Edgar Cabral's infield hit to the hole at short brought home Hall to make it 3-1.

Lakeland took advantage of a leadoff error in the third to plate three more unearned runs off Medina. Chad Sedio, Isaac Paredes, and Cam Gibson each contributed RBI doubles to push the Flying Tigers ahead, 4-3.

Clearwater again pulled even in the bottom of the fourth. After Cabral and Jose Pujols each singled to start the inning, with one down Jose Gomez rolled a grounder to short that scored Carbal to knot the game up at four.

Medina settled in through his final three innings, retiring the last 10 men to bat against him. The right-hander did not factor in the decision, allowing four unearned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six.

Blake Quinn (1-2) yielded a run in the top of the seventh, before the Threshers rallied to take the lead in the home half. Adam Haseley got it going with a two-out infield single, and Listi was hit by a pitch. Lakeland lifted Castro in favor of Vest, and Hall's league-leading ninth home run of the season proved the difference-maker.

Aaron Brown struck out two in a perfect eighth, and Jeff Singer locked it down in the ninth to earn his third save in as many tries.

The series wraps up over in Lakeland on Thursday, when McKenzie Mills (0-1) takes the hill against Tom de Blok (1-3) at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on threshersbaseball.com starting at 6:15 p.m.
