CLEARWATER, Fla. - Darick Hall hit his 11th home run of the season for the Clearwater Threshers, as the Threshers dropped a four-game series against Palm Beach after an 8-3 loss on Thursday night at Spectrum Field.

Hall launched a ball to the sidewalk over the berm in right field to add one on to his league-leading 11 homers. Hall is also second in the league in extra-base hits with 18.

After three scoreless innings, Palm Beach (24-15) tacked on five runs in the fourth. A leadoff single and a stolen base put Shane Billings in scoring position, and a hit-by-pitch followed by an RBI single from J.B. Woodman sent Billings across the plate. Woodman was then thrown out at second by catcher Henri Lartigue for the second out.

An RBI single to right field by Ryan McCarvel and a walk put runners on first and second with two outs for Juan Yepez, who sent a three-run home run over the fence in left-center field to put up a 5-0 lead.

Hall hit his solo shot in the home half of the inning, cutting the deficit to 5-1.

The Threshers (16-24) rallied back in the fifth inning. After back-to-back infield singles by Jose Antequera and Arquimedes Gamboa, a wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position. Adam Haseley hit an infield single of his own to score Antequera, making it 5-2.

Austin Listi then sent a single into left field to push Gamboa across the plate, bringing it back within two with a score of 5-3. With his hit, Listi extended his on-base streak to 21 consecutive games.

The Cardinals added two runs in the sixth courtesy of two RBI doubles, extending their lead to 7-3. The final run would come in the ninth after Evan Mendoza's RBI single made it 8-3.

Mauricio Llovera (2-3) took the loss for the Threshers. Llovera gave up five runs on seven hits while striking out three and allowing one walk.

Jakob Hernandez gave up two runs on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk in his 2.1 innings of relief.

Alberto Tirado held the Cardinals scoreless in his first two innings, before giving up one run in the top of the ninth. He allowed four hits, striking out two and not permitting a walk in three innings.

The Threshers begin a long road trip starting in Kissimmee as they face the Florida Fire Frogs for a three-game series at Osceola County Stadium. Sixto Sanchez (2-2) will face Tucker Davidson (1-4) with a 6:31 p.m. first pitch. Kirsten Karbach will be on the call starting at 6:16 p.m. for the Threshers Broadcast Network.
