
Halftime show features Jay Kletecka

The San Diego Riptide will have Jay Kletecka who has been featured on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and Fox Sports Net's "Best Damn Sports Show Ever" as the halftime entertainment on Saturday May 14 as they play host to the Birmingham Steeldogs at the ipayOne Center at 7:00 pm.
Kletecka is a math teacher that has risen to stardom as a master of the "Pop-A-Shot" arcade basketball game. Kletecka started early in his life as he won his first "Pop-A-Shot" championship when he was 12 during a competition that was sponsored by the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. During his appearance on "Best Damn", he faced 2003 NBA rookie of the year Amare Stoudemire. Kletecka outgunned Stoudemire 106-38.
"You have to be able to juggle the balls, keep a speedy pace, and have the timing down to get the right technique," said Kletecka. "Off the backboard and aim for the center."
Kletecka who is a Guinness World Record holder for most "Pop-A-Shot" baskets in a minute (139) is currently a teacher at Lemon Grove Middle School in Lemon Grove. Mr. Kletecka will be challenged by a member of the crowd during the halftime show.
