Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals took Saturday's game against the Tulsa Drillers by a 4-1 final in a rain-shortened game behind a three-RBI effort from shortstop Jeison Guzmán.

Guzmán (MLB Pipeline's No. 22 Royals' prospect) finished the night 2-for-3, with a single in the first inning and three-run double in the fifth, a bases-clearing extra-base hit that proved to be the difference in the game.

The Naturals' other three hits in the game were singles from Clay Dungan, Brewer Hicklen and Kevin Merrell across the first seven innings, while the team also drew five walks, three of them scoring in the fifth inning.

Hicklen also continued his tear in the base paths this month, stealing his 34th base of the season and his 14th in August alone.

Drew Parrish earned his fourth win of the season, allowing just two hits across 5.0 innings, while striking out six. Ándres Núñez earned the save, his first of the season in his return to Northwest Arkansas after a stint with Triple-A Omaha.

Guzmán walked to begin the top of the 8th inning and Vinnie Pasquantino (MLB Pipeline's No. 19 Royals' prospect) struck out, then the umpires called for the tarp with Seuly Matias at the plate. After a 44-minute delay, the game was called and Northwest Arkansas improves to 49-45.

The Naturals will look for a series split with Tulsa (51-44) in the final meeting between the two teams this season. Left-hander Angel Zerpa (MLB Pipeline's No. 20 Royals' prospect) will get the start for the Naturals.
