
Gurskis named SPHL Player of the Week

[MACON, Ga.] â Macon Trax player/assistant coach John Gurskis is never one to care about his own accolades. This week he can enjoy the fact he was named the Southern Professional Hockey League's Sherwood Player of the Week.
The Trax enjoyed a four game week in which they went 2-2. Gurskis led the way with six points, including two goals and four assists.
The Brockton, Mass. native scored the game winning goal for the Trax last Thursday night in Jacksonville. The next night the center registered three assists in the Trax loss at home against the Barracudas.
With the strong week Gurskis has moved up to fifth place in SPHL scoring. Overall the 5'11", 195-pounder has six goals and 10 assists.
Tonight Macon heads back to Jacksonville for a Tuesday night showdown with the defending champion Barracudas. Friday night the Trax will return home to face the Fayetteville FireAntz. The Trax will wake up and head to Jacksonville again this Saturday for another showdown with the Barracudas. All games will start at 7:05 pm.
