Gunslingers Score Big in Home Victory
LUBBOCK, TX. With newly acquired QB and Texas Tech alumnus, Marc Saldana, the Lubbock Gunslingers went on a scoring rampage to defeat the Lincoln Capitols 88-31. The victory marked the first home win for the Gunslingers, and was the second highest point total scored in the NIFL this season. Only the Gunslingers final home opponent, the River City Rage, put up more points scoring 90 in the 6th week of the season.
The Gunslingers look to control their own destiny in the playoff chase with only two regular season games remaining. The Gunslingers close their regular season home schedule Saturday, June 18th against the River City Rage and then hit the road the following week to take on the Montgomery Maulers. A victory over these two opponents will secure the final playoff spot for the Lubbock Gunslingers.
Come out and support the Gunslingers as they make a run for the playoffs! A press conference is scheduled for 1:30 pm Monday, June 13 at Fire & Ice, and head coach Brian Blake and a handful of players will be available for interviews. Also, all media are invited to attend the Gunslingers year end Season Ticket Holder & Sponsor Appreciation Party at Fire & Ice Friday, June 17th at 7:00 pm.
The Gunslingers will kickoff their final regular season home game, this Saturday June 18th at 7:05 pm against the River City Rage. Be sure to be there as the 6,000th fan through the gates will receive $6,000 in cash. Tickets are available at any Select-A-Seat location or by calling (806) 770-2000.
