Game notes... The Knights will make their 2nd of 3 regular season visits to Guelph with a capacity crowd expected... As of Tuesday afternoon, ticket sales for Wednesday night's game have already surpassed 4,200... Both clubs will be missing some key players due to international tournaments... Absent from the Knights lineup for Wednesday's game will be Rob Schremp, Team USA World Juniors (78 points - 1st in OHL), David Bolland, Team Canada World Juniors (71 points - 3rd in OHL) and rookie defenceman Corey Syvret, Team Ontario World U-17 Challenge... Guelph will be missing two of their top blueliners with Ryan Parent representing Canada at the World Juniors and rookie Drew Doughty playing alongside Syvret at the Under 17 Hockey Challenge... The Knights are currently ranked #2 in the latest CHL rankings... Rookie Import winger Sergei Kostitsyn will be in the Knights' lineup after leading Belarus to the 'A' Pool Championship... With Schremp and Bolland out of the lineup, the Knights will lean on Kostitisyn, overage winger Dylan Hunter and 2nd year winger Adam Perry to generate offence. The trio has combined for 141 points in 88 games this season... Defenceman Matt Pelech, who was acquired before the Christmas break from Sarnia, is expected to make his Knights' debut in Guelph... Adam Dennis has been terrific for the Knights since returning from the Buffalo Sabres camp, the former Storm netminder has a record of 24-2-0-2 and played every single minute for London... Several Storm players have London connections including Brandon Biggers, Ryan Pottruff, Jason Guy and Ryan MacDonald all acquired from London and Shawn Haviland, a London native and Leigh Salters, a London native that was drafted by Guelph with a 2nd round selection acquired from London.

Game notes... Formerly the #1 ranked team in the CHL's weekly rankings, the Petes have slipped to #5 in the most recent poll... After steamrolling to a 20-2-1-0 record through 23 games, the Petes slipped with 3 straight losses before their current streak of 5 wins in 6 games... The Petes have played 3 games versus Midwest Division opponents winning all 3 contests by a combined score of 18-7... Peterborough's record versus Western Conference opposition is 8-2-0-0 with their only losses coming in back-to-back defeats in Saginaw (7-2) and in Sarnia (2-1)... The Petes will be missing forward Steve Downie from their lineup for Friday's game, with the rambunctious winger representing Canada at the World Junior Championship... Back-up goaltender Trevor Cann will miss Friday's game representing Ontario at the World U-17's... The Petes are led up front by three balanced lines that can do damage... Depending on the results of Peterborough's game on Thursday versus Brampton, the Petes could boast a total 11 different players with 20 or more points this season... Daniel Ryder and Jordan Staal lead the Petes in game winning goals with 5 apiece and are tied for 3rd in the OHL... Matt D'Agostini leads the Storm in game winners with 4... Peterborough goaltender David Shantz is showing some of the form that made him a 2nd round NHL pick with a 17-4-1-0 record... Guelph Storm goaltender Ryan MacDonald currently ranks 2nd in GAA (2.29) and wins (18)... Special teams have helped to carry the Petes to their impressive start with the OHL's #2 PP (23.5%) and #7 ranked PK (82.2%).

Game notes... The Storm and their fans watching this game live or on tv will have to wait until Oshawa's lone visit to Guelph on Wednesday, February 15th to get a look at 15-year old John Tavares. The future of the Generals' franchise has fast become their present with 23 goals in 34 games as an underage rookie... A pair of Generals including Tavares and winger Dale Mitchell will miss the New Year's Day matinee versus the Storm as they represent Ontario at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge... Defenceman David Halasz is representing his native Slovakia at the World Junior Championship... 19-year old centre Peter Tsimikalis has enjoyed a break-out season with the Generals leading the team in assists (39) and points (59)... Since arriving in a mid-season trade from the Majors last season, 18 year old Cal Clutterbuck has been solid for Oshawa picking up 53 points in61 games including 35 points in 34 games this season... Scrappy overage winger Kelly Thomson has picked up 8 points and 45 PIM's in 19 games since being dealt by the London Knights to the Generals earlier this season... Guelph native Matt Seegmiller has played the Generals last 4 games registering 0 points and 2 PIM's... The Generals have the 2nd worst powerplay in the OHL (14.9%) and the 2nd worst penalty kill (74.6%)... With an abysmal 178 goals allowed (5.24 GA/GP), Oshawa has allowed 29 more goals than any other OHL club... Overage goaltender Kevin Couture has struggled behind the Generals' porous defence allowing 4.88 goals per game... Former Kitchener Ranger netminder Carlo DiRienzo has seen action in 7 of the Generals' last 9 games surrendering 3.78 goals per game for the season... Oshawa is currently riding a modest 2-game win streak, their first back-to-back wins of the 2005-06 campaign.
