Guarantee Week Begins with Opening Day

PEORIA, ILâ On top of the excitement surrounding the April 20th home opener of the Peoria Chiefs, the club has announced several opening week promotions that promise to fill the stadium with enthusiastic fans. From Kids Club Tuesdays to Family Day Sundays, the Chiefs are dedicated to providing their fans with an enjoyable experience when visiting O'Brien Field.
On opening day, all kids under 12 will be given the opportunity to draw a baseball related picture of O'Brien Field, upon which they will receive a free ticket with a paid adult. All drawings will be displayed on the concourse for fans to see. WHOI Kids Club Tuesday will also pit the Peoria Chiefs against the Kane County Cougars, a 2003 playoff team. Despite the tough competition, the Chiefs are guaranteeing a win! If the Chiefs do not win, all fans in attendance can redeem their ticket for a free ticket to any remaining 2004 regular season game subject to availability (Please visit the O'Brien Field Box Office for additional details). Also, all fans in attendance will receive a 2004 Chiefs calendar and all kids 14 and under can Run the Bases immediately following the game.
Throughout opening week, also known as Guarantee Week, the Chiefs have made a number of guarantees that, if not fulfilled, will allow all fans in attendance to redeem their ticket for a free ticket to any remaining regular season game. On Wednesday, the Chiefs have guaranteed to score first, while on Budweiser Thirsty Thursdays they've guaranteed to score 10 runs. Also on Thursday: $1.50 draft beers. On Friday, the Chiefs have guaranteed a grand slam and Saturday they've guaranteed a shutout.
But above all else, the Chiefs have also guaranteed that you will have a good time on Family Day Sunday, April 25th. Presented by the PJ Star, Insight Communications and Eagle Radio-Mix 105.7, Family Days will feature giveaways for the first 1500 kids 14 and under and will provide them with an opportunity to run the bases following the game. Animals from the Glen Oak Zoo will be on hand and your favorite cartoon characters will be in attendance to entertain the kids and play with Rally. Plus, all 10 Sunday games this season will feature autograph sessions with Chiefs players and coaches.
