South Bend Silver Hawks News Release

SOUTH BEND, IN – In celebration of Hank Aaron's 715th home run, the South Bend Silver Hawks will commemorate the occasion by offering one lucky fan the chance to pocket $755 when the Silver hawks play host to the Fort Wayne Wizards on April 8th. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 PM.

Aaron, who broke Babe Ruth's career home run record with a fourth inning home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 8, 1974, hit his last home run and 755th of his major league career, when he blasted a four-bagger against Dick Drago and the California Angels in a 6-2 win on July 20, 1976 at County Stadium in Milwaukee.

On Thursday, a lucky fan will have a chance to win $755 if a Silver Hawks player hits a homer in the fourth inning of the Silver Hawks opener. The player will have to accomplish the feat by following in the "footsteps" of Aaron. The Silver Hawks player must be the second batter in the fourth inning and connect with a home run on the second pitch to win a Silver Hawks fan their cash.

The Silver Hawks continue their opening homestand with two more games against the Wizards on Friday and Saturday, before inviting the West Michigan Whitecaps to town for a four game series, to close the homestand April 12th through April 15th. All game times for the seven game homestand are slated for 6:30 PM.
