Orange County Flyers News Release

It was a story of two fantastic pitching performances that took the back seat to a horrific accident.

The two teams split a double header Friday night at Goodwin Field with Edmonton (9-3) taking the first game before the Flyers (4-6) held on to win game two 6-5.

Chris Cullen shut down the Orange County Flyers offense in game one, as the Edmonton CrackerCats defeated the Orange County Flyers 5-1.

In game two, the Flyers turned the tables behind a solid outing from Bob Cramer and were leading 6-2 in the seventh before a fly ball between Flyers' shortstop Dave Bacani and outfielder Mark Okano causing a head to head collision causing a delay in the ball game.

The paramedics were immediately called on to the field to tend to both players while the game seemed to become secondary.

Bacani was instrumental in the Flyers win driving two triples and a home run before leaving in the seventh.

The two teams will meet for the final game of this three game set Saturday July 26th with the Band For TV concert to follow.
