St. John's, NL - The Newfoundland Growlers have signed Goaltender Mario Culina and Defenseman Rodi Short to standard, ECHL contracts.
Rodi Short, The 6'-1", 205-pound Goulds native appeared in 137 games with the Grand Falls - Windsor Cataracts over the past 5 seasons. He recorded 29 goals and 91 assists for 120 points while registering 242 penalty minutes.
Mario Culina hails from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and appeared in 71 regular season games in the OHL over the past three seasons with the Windsor Spitfires, Sudbury Wolves and Kitchener Rangers. He recorded 38 wins with a .906 save-percentage and a 2.84 Goals Against Average.
