Danville Otterbots News Release
DANVILLE, VA - Danville Braves pitcher Alec Grosser has been a dominant part of the Danville Braves pitching rotation all season long. Grosser has just been named the Appalachian League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 14 - 20.
Grosser gets the bid after an impressive start against the Bristol Pirates on July 16, a D-Braves combined one-hit shutout victory, by the score of 4-0. On the night, Grosser threw for 6.0 innings, allowing the only Bristol hit of the game, no runs, walking two, and striking out seven in what was one of the best performances of the year by a Danville pitcher.
On the season Grosser is 2-0 with a 3.62 ERA. He has also recorded 35 strike outs to only 10 walks in 27.1 innings of work, while holding opposing hitters to a .224 batting average entering his scheduled start tonight in Greeneville.
