This is the second of three meetings of the two; the Fever took the first 49-48 winning on the final play of the game. However, this time around the Fever will face the Coyotes standout quarterback from 2007, Clay Groefsema, as today head Coach Fred Biletnikoff Jr. announced Groefsema the started for this weekends' game.

"It's a very difficult decision to take QB Joe Ayoob off the field after he had such a good game against Boise two weeks ago," stated Biletnikoff. "Our defense has played good enough for us to be at least 6-2 but, overall our offense has been inconsistent, that's why we're just 4-4. We need to get this offense back to where it's been the last three years and right now I feel Clay gives us the best chance to do that."

Groefsema (6'2 205) a Lemoore native and graduate from the University of Redlands had his 2007 af2 debut cut short after an injury in the thirteenth game of the season ended his season. Despite missing the final three games of the 2007 season Groefsema accounted for 90 touchdowns (75 passing, 15 rushing) and lead an offense that scored 935 points on the year. The highlight of his rookie season was against Boise in week #6 when Groefsema threw for 373 yards and 8 touchdowns and rushed for 4 more to lead the Coyotes to a 79-70 victory over the Burn.
