Amarillo Venom News Release
AMARILLO, Texas The Amarillo Dusters will be hosting their annual Lil' Darlins Dance Camp on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The registration fee is $30 and includes two tickets to the game on June 28 and a t-shirt. It's open to kids ages 7-18 years old.
"This is something we do every single year and it is very successful," said dance team coordinator, Lacy Ratcliffe. "Last year we had about 55 girls and even a couple of boys come."
During the camp, the Duster Darlins' teach the campers a routine that they will perform at halftime at the game on June 28.
"All of the dance team members ask what songs the kids like and we pick what they like," Ratcliffe said. "For that time that those kids are out on the field, they feel like they are running the game."
Ratcliffe expressed that this dance camp is something that these kids look forward to every year.
"As a Dusters dancer, we are automatically role models for the kids so it is really fun to interact with our little fans," Ratcliffe said. "It's also cute to see them dancing around!"
The camp will take place in the Coliseum at the Amarillo Civic Center.
