Grizzlies Win Eighth with Eighth-Inning Comeback

Chris Klosterman's two-hit, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Grizzlies their eighth consecutive win, a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Mid-Missouri Mavericks. The Grizzlies are a Frontier League best 8-2, and are now 2 1/2 games up in first place in the West Division. The Grizzlies trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth, after the Mavericks scored a pair in the top of the eighth. Klosterman was one-for-four with the two runs batted in. Horace Lawrence was three-for-four with an RBI, and Todd Oetting was two-for-four on the night. Dave Klahs got the win in relief. Klahs pitched the final two innings allowing a pair of runs on two hits. He is now 1-0. Brett Parsons started for the Grizzlies and went seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits, striking out five. The Grizzlies and Mavericks will finish off their series and the homestand with a 7:05 game Thursday night at GMC Stadium.
