Rockford RiverHawks News Release
The Rockford RiverHawks (5-6) could not muster much offense against Matt Husky and the Kenosha pitching staff as they were defeated 3-1. Kenosha struck first in the fourth inning on a two-run single by Tanner Townsend. Rockford crossed the plate in the fifth on a failed pickoff attempt as Kiley Vaughn scored from third. Kenosha then added an insurance run in the seventh on a Josh Landon double. Jason Shelly picked up the loss for Rockford; he lasted eight innings, giving up three runs, while striking out six. The RiverHawks stranded nine men on base and left the bases loaded in the final inning.
The RiverHawks will be on the road against Kenosha for game three of the series tomorrow night beginning at 6:05 p.m. Frank James will get the start for Rockford against Josh Bennett of Kenosha.
