Grizzlies Welcome Salt Lake and Willie Mays to Fresno
June 5, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies will open a four-game homestand against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, on Saturday, June 6th at Chukchansi Park. The four-game series between two of the PCL's top teams will feature "As Seen On TV" Night, and an appearance by the greatest living ballplayer on the planet.
The Grizzlies, the Pacific Coast League's best team since mid-April, will welcome the Salt Lake Bees to Downtown Fresno on Saturday, June 6th when they host "As Seen On TV" Night at Chukchansi Park. The latest signature promotion from MILB.com's 2008 "Promotion Of The Year" award winners will be a celebration of the infomercial phenomenon, and products that seem infinitely more appealing on television at 3:00am than they would in any store.
The first 2,500 fans into the ballpark will receive the most unique Minor League Baseball giveaway of the season, a Grizzlies shammy cloth. The comprehensive theme night will feature live "As Seen On TV" product demonstrations on the concourse, a Snuggie/ShamWow/LifeAlert relay race, and Parker's unveiling of his own new product in an attempt to catapult himself to global superstardom like Billy Mays. Despite high-level meetings on the subject, the team has decided against hooking each of the stadium light towers to a Clapper.
On SaveMart Sunday, June 7th the Grizzlies will be honored to welcome the world's greatest living ballplayer to Chukchansi Park on Willie Mays Tribute Day. The Giants' Hall of Famer will be in attendance as the organization honors his career throughout Sunday's matinee contest. While Mays will not be signing autographs for the general public, fans can visit FresnoGrizzlies.com to learn about the only ways they can be selected to win a private meet-and-greet with the âSay Hey Kid'.
Sunday's contest between Fresno and Salt Lake is a day game at Chukchansi Park, scheduled to begin at 2:05pm, and a great day for kids to come to the ballpark. After the game, kids under the age of 12 can run the bases on the field thanks to Del Taco.
On Monday, June 8th, Grizzlies fans can take advantage of the best entertainment value in the entire Central Valley, Monday Madness presented by ABC30. For just $22, fans get two Field Level Reserve tickets for Monday's game against Salt Lake, two hot dogs, two sodas, two Wild Water Adventure Park passes, and two Blackbeard's miniature golf passes, a bundle worth over $100 in total.
The Grizzlies and Bees wrap up their first of four series this season on Tuesday, June 9th. In a new promotion designed to provide the utmost in value for fans, All You Can Eat Tuesdays at the ballpark mean that for just $15, fans can purchase a Field Level Reserve ticket and enjoy unlimited hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, soft drinks, and water until 8:30pm.
The Fresno Grizzlies will wrap up a four-game series in Colorado Springs on Friday night before returning to the Central Valley on Saturday, June 6th to open a four-game series with the Salt Lake Bees.
