
Grizzlies take down ThunderBolts

The Gateway Grizzlies got great starting pitchers, and big hits to take down the Windy City ThunderBolts 10-3 Sunday night at GMC Stadium.
The Grizzlies are now 35-26. The win coupled with a Rockford loss, moves the Grizzlies within a game of the first-place RiverHawks.
Kevin Lee (7-2) went seven innings in the start. He allowed three runs on seven hits. He struck out a season-high 11 hitters. Dan Smith finished the job with two perfect innings. He struck out five of the six hitters he faced.
The Grizzlies scored six runs in the third to take a 7-3 lead, and they never looked back. They added single runs in the fourth, sixth, and eighth.
Mike Breyman led the way offensively. He went 3-5 with two solo home runs. Ryan Sullivan was 3-5 with a pair of RBIs. Phil Warren had a three-run home run in four at-bats. He now leads the league with 17 home runs, and 50 RBIs.
The Grizzlies and ThunderBolts continue the series with a 7:05 game Monday night at GMC Stadium.
