Columbia, MOâ The Mid-Missouri Mavericks defeated the Rockford RiverHawks by a score of 6-4.
The RiverHawks scored the first run of the game on Rico Santana's sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning. The RiverHawks added another run on the top of the second inning when Shaff Elkouri drove in a run and reached on an error.
Mid-Missouri scored four runs in the fourth inning including the winning run when Matt Oakes drove in a run and reached on an error, one of five committed by the RiverHawks.
Danny Shuck (2-1) picked up the win for Mid-Missouri. Justin Craker picked up his fourth save of the season. Mica Christensen (0-1) took the loss for the RiverHawks.
The series continues tomorrow night at 7:05. The RiverHawks return to Marinelli Field on Saturday at 7:05 to take on the Windy City ThunderBolts. Saturday night will be umbrella give away night sponsored by State Farm Insurance. Call (815) 964-2255 for tickets.
